Tourists trying to find an all-inclusive vacay experience in Florida can get excited as The Bungalows Key Largo has reopened for business as of December 2019 after a fire left its beach house structure damaged in May 2019.
Anyone who’s ever done the drive over the Overseas highway is aware of the pure magic of the Florida keys. Just a short jaunt from Miami, the string of tropical islands boasts charming BnB’s, soaring palms, coral reefs, and awesome 360-degree water views (AKA the makings of a dream beach vacay).
When The Bungalows Key Largo opened in January 2019, it was touted as the largest all-inclusive and adults-only property within the United States. The 21-and-over resort has since restored the beach house, located near the waterfront, which is home to the living room common area, two restaurants, Hemingway bar, the main pool area and is part of the Zen Garden Spa.
While it is the main hub of the 12-acre resort, it actually takes up a really small section of the resort’s total acreage, and fortunately, the 135 individual bungalows were untouched by the fire.
Also, no one was injured as a result of the fire as guests and associates were evacuated safely. The resort was able to complete construction on schedule and re-create the ambiance of the original design. The Bungalows Key Largo resort didn’t add any amenities as a part of the reopening although it has no shortage of them.
In addition to luxury accommodations bathed in natural textures and soothing tropical hues, guests at The Bungalows Key Largo have access to a number of amenities among the resort’s garden-like atmosphere such as 2 pools, 2 Jacuzzi’s, 3 piers, and numerous beachfront cabanas that supply lots of space for kicking back. Those that wish to remain active can make use of the resort’s beach cruisers (two bikes accompany each bungalow), daily yoga classes, snorkeling gear, numerous boats and water vessels, and the “Fitness Tiki Hut” outfitted with Pelotons
The most popular attraction, Lady B which is their 56-foot Sailing Catamaran, is available for daytime snorkel and swimming excursions in addition to sunset cruises, all of which are provided daily. The Zen Garden Spa and clear-bottom sea kayaks and Tiki boats have also proved to be popular.
Island-inspired food and drink is of course abundant at resort. The Bungalows Key Largo boasts 3 restaurants, one for fine dining, one serving up casual Mexican fare, and one providing Italian-inspired seafood dishes.
Throughout the bliss-ed out beach days, a waterfront food truck serves fast fare while the Sunset Tiki Bar shakes up exotic cocktails. And if day drinking is your thing, don’t miss a cruise on one of 2 offbeat and genius floating tiki boats.
